Info & Tips

  1. Never scrub at a stain, only blot it. If you scrub at it, you will simply spread it around more, and end up damaging the rug or carpet fibers.
  2. Always place a doormat in the entranceway and halls – this will stop dirt and soil being trodden into your home.
  3. Vacuum regularly – at least twice a week and more often in high-traffic areas.
  4. Always use environmentally-friendly cleaning products. They aren’t just safer for your pets and children, but they protect the planet too. They’re also just as effective as traditional solutions, so you won’t be compromising on efficiency.
  5. If you want to try and deal with a stain yourself, spot test a small, hidden, area of the carpet or rug first. This will help you work out whether any color fading or any other damage is likely.
  6. Make sure to keep your rug out of direct sunlight. This will prevent its colors from fading.
  7. When you brush the fringe of your rug, brush it in its natural direction. In this way, you will avoid tearing it.
  8. Rotate your area rugs regularly, to circulate air and make sure foot traffic is spread across them evenly.
  9. Bathe your pets regularly to minimize the amount of fur and dander they will leave on your carpets and rugs.
  10. If your carpet or rug becomes frayed or torn, call a professional. The longer you leave it, the quicker it will deteriorate.
